The four majors sit on both tours. Each one is run by its own tournament, and each one is worth more ranking points than any other event.

Singles is a 128-player knockout. Men play best of five sets. Women play best of three. The program also includes men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Qualifying is played in the days before the main draw.

The slams are not ATP or WTA tournaments. They are run by the tournaments themselves, and both tours count them. A singles champion earns 2,000 ranking points on the tour that player competes on. At 6–6 in the last set, the slams use a 10-point tie-break.
