Places are earned on the WTA rankings race, not by a 128-player draw. The eight singles players are split into two groups of four, play a round robin, and the top two in each group go on to the semifinals and the final. Doubles uses the same shape.
In 2026 the WTA Finals are on hard courts in Indian Wells, from 9 to 15 November.
